Located  on the “Boston side” of the Sagamore Bridge to Cape Cod, most vacationers and sightseers cruise on by, unaware that this coastal enclave even exists and one suspects the residents are happy to keep it that way!

In “Sag Beach” you will find dramatic shore frontage along Cape Cod Bay, winding country roads and  beautiful conservation areas. Sagamore Beach also abuts the Scusset Beach Recreational Park, a Massachusetts State Park with access to the Canal Recreation areas. Town residents may obtain beach stickers that provide parking access to Beaches #1 and #2 ….but arrive early because these are small parking lots.

The Highlands are at the end of a cliffside range that extends out of Plymouth and tapers off and ends at the Highlands. At the Sagamore Highlands Association Beach, there is a carefully designed stairway to the Beach, complete with a midway bench where you can sit and enjoy stunning views out to Provincetown and the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal as well as paragliders who sail/fly off the nearby cliffs. Association dues and fundraising together with cooperation from the Town of Bourne keep the access maintained. There is no parking so use is restricted to folks arriving on foot!

Traditions remain strong in both Sagamore Beach and Sagamore Highlands and are full of true Americana, especially around the 4th of July when horns and bells sound to wake the residents to join the homespun 4th parade and activities at the Beach. Life here is still full with cookouts, bon fires, themed get togethers, day camps for the kids and tennis and pickleball and book clubs. True luxuries in life!
